Introduction
Welcome to the first issue of "BLUES & SOUL Monthly Music Review". Many of you will know us from "HOME OF THE BLUES", the predecessor to the magazine you are now reading. "HOME OF THE BLUES" spent 18 months building from nothing to become the most successful R&B/Soul magazine in Europe. Mostly on a subscription or small distribution basis, it reached an enviable status within those 18 months. Now, it's successor is able to start off as a ready-made success. Why the change of name? We felt a little restricted using the name "HOME OF THE BLUES". The new title, although perhaps a little less personal, is without doubt more acceptable to the public in general. Gone are the days when R&B music was just for a handful of purists. Nowadays, it is readily accepted by the average record buyer. We sincerely hope that this publication will help promote the sales of records that come under the heading BLUES & SOUL. For the benefit of new readers, several of the articles and much of the format has been handed down by "HOME OF THE BLUES". Why change a winning team? Lastly, we are hoping that many of you will write and give us your views on the changeover. We will naturally print the best of these letters.

Reasonable condition with small tick marks and some underlining on 7 pages. Moderate signs of use.
