it - International Times newspaper

Vintage back issues of International Times magazine are in stock with negotiable prices for multiple purchases. Welcome to our collection of 1960's and 1970's International Times magazines. An "All Night Rave" at the London Roundhouse launched International Times on October 15th 1966. Due to legal threats from The Times newspaper it was abbreviated to IT. Constant funding was needed to fight repeated court cases so "The 14 Hour Technicolor Dream" benefit was arranged at London's Alexandra Palace on 29 April 1967. Bands included Pink Floyd, The Pretty Things, The Move etc. Despite constant Police harassment of the UK underground press IT magazine continued to grow to a circulation of 40,000 in late 1968-69 until it's first demise in October 1973 when it was convicted for running contact ads for gay men. There were just a few sporadic issues between 1974 and 1982. International Times editors included Barry Miles, John "Hoppy" Hopkins, David Mairowitz, Peter Stansill, Jim Haynes, Tom McGrath, Jack Moore, William Levy, Mike Lesser and Mick Farren. We want to buy International Times magazines and similar underground press on our wanted list of underground press. Click the WANTED link is at the bottom of this page.
