Melody Maker

Melody Maker magazine was a British weekly music publication sold in a newspaper format and was one of the first music publications of its kind. Founded in 1926 by Leicester-born composer and publisher Lawrence Wright, the magazine initially catered to dance bands and orchestras. Later covering Jazz, Rock n Roll, Heavy Rock, Progressive rock, Punk rock, New Wave and Indie.

From 1926 to 2000, Melody Maker had several editors who played significant roles in shaping the magazine's direction during a dynamic period for music journalism.
