his is the contents page
today. We decided to add a
few words. And today we
- have to say a few words
about motor cars. You'll have seen
from the cover that we're starting a
series about them. It's not just for
the enthusiasts but for anvone who
has ever had a car. There have been
around 6000 manufacturers since
cars began back in the 1890s but
our clever experts have whittled
them down to 100 all-time greats.
Don't rush to disagree - control
yourselves for another six weeks.
After the cars, then it's food.
The healthy high-class stuff, known
as cuisine minceur, has been
referred to several times over the
past year in Lifespan. But it's only
now that we have the original
recipes. So why not taste what all
the fuss has been about. They're
served up for us by Caroline
Conran, our new cookery corres-
pondent.
Michael Parkinson went to see
Faye Dunaway by the poolside in
Beverly Hills, surrounded by the
detritus of her Oscar success. He
didn't get that much out of her, but
then few journalists have. He's spun
it out nicely though. And the photo
is very sharp.
