beauty bows out this week with a chance for you to have your
say. We commissioned an opinion poll to discover what
attracts the sexes to each other. Or, for that matter, to
themselves. Statistics have never been more vital. We
suspect the pollsters enjoyed the exercise as much as we did. Bosoms
versus bottoms do make a change from Margaret and Jim. Yet there
are still some don't knows .. . Michael Heseltines appearance on
Page 94 in the slot occupied so memorably last week by Guy the
Gorilla is not part of the beauty series. Its just coincidence.

Next week We haven't exactly put holly around every page
but its the nearest we'll get to a Christmas issue
this year. We dont publish on December 25. Robert Carrier leads the
Lifespan team into action for the final week of New Cookery. You
might be able to guess which meal hell be discussing. Lifespan
generally is very festive but otherwise we havent gone overboard on
    the Christmas theme.

Not unless you can call a feature on TV newsreaders seasonal.
Read Russell Millers piece to see whether or not you should feel
sorry for the one or two who will be working over Christmas. Or are
they just lucky to have such a cushy number?

Liam McAuley certainly thought he was lucky when we asked
him to spend one Sunday afternoon cruising down the Thames with
half-a-dozen naked ladies. Scores of other men had the same
idea, however. They were there (above) photographing the ladies.
Dont miss McAuleys report and Duffys photographs of the amateur
photographers photographing the models. They're the most tasteful
    taken that afternoon.

Very Good+ condition - moderate wear to cover. Will be posted in a strong card envelope.
