it's perhaps only fitting that
the trade unions, being the
new establishment, should be
moving into the stately homes
once owned by the old establish-
ment. The heraldic devices and
family mottoes are coming down
and up goes Workers of the Worl
Unite, but everything else is being
kept in gentlemanly condition. The
unionists, after all, are known for
their good taste. Peter Paterson
reports on page 28.

The Sunday Times Magazine is a supplement to The Sunday Times newspaper. The Sunday Times Magazine became Britain's first colour newspaper supplement on its launch in February 1962. Over the past 50 years, The Sunday Times Magazine has featured stunning images by many of the worlds great photographers. As well as a string of sumptuously presented images are works by many highly regarded writers such as Ian Fleming, Martin Amis, Zoe Heller, James Fox, Bruce Chatwin, Jilly Cooper and Nicholas Tomalin.
All items are professionally packed in high quality rigid all cardboard mailers. We do not use board backed paper envelopes. Magazines are placed in cellophane bags and then taped inside the mailer to keep it free from corners where damage can occur.
